Black River Lake

Black River Lake is a man-made reservoir located in Concordia Parish, Louisiana. The lake was created in 1963 for the purpose of flood control and water supply. It covers an area of about 2,200 acres and has a maximum depth of 40 feet. The lake is fed by Black River and several smaller streams, and the water is controlled by a dam at the south end of the lake. Black River Lake is a popular destination for fishing, boating, and camping. The lake is home to a variety of fish species, including largemouth bass, crappie, catfish, and bream. There are several campgrounds and recreational areas around the lake, including the Black River Lake Recreation Area and the Black River Lake Wildlife Management Area.
